The Last of March
Greetings,
As we move closer and closer to April, the workload has steadily increased here at CCF. Our first sap boil is behind us, more seeds have been sown, and general prep work for the garden/geenhouse season has begun. In addition, earlier this week I picked up 23 chickens from Tractor Supply. Seventeen are Red Stars, the same variety of brown egg layers purchased last spring. The remaining six are Leghorns. Combined with our 10 current layers we should be getting a steady load of eggs by mid-summer.
The weather mid-week is looking more favorable for sap runs. With the recent cool temps we have been on a boiling 'freeze'.
Cheers.
