Sweet, Dairy Free Treats that will keep you feeling cool in the Summer heat!

Regardless of the fact that we already went through a major “Heat Wave” of the summer in the Northeast, it still feels really hot outside. As we know hot days lead to dehydration, exhaustion and overall irritability. It can be hard to find the right foods to consume that are not only tasty and cooling, but are also good for you! Here’s a list of our top sweets for the summer that will keep you feeling satisfied and at ease.

1. Watermelon

This one is obvious, but if you want to spice it up in a salad add some sea salt and balsamic vinegar for a different kind of taste.

2. Organic Coconut Popsicles

These are sold in many grocery stores and mainly made out of coconut milk. These pops are hydrating, sweet and about 100 Calories. They are the perfect sweet treat following a long day at the beach!

3. Frozen Grapes

While this snack may sound pretty basic, frozen grapes taste like candy! They even taste pretty filling and are ice cold so you won’t need a lot of them to feel full.

4. Dairy Free Ice Cream.

When you’re feeling like you want ice cream, but know you can’t stomach the dairy try out some diary free cream made out of either almond milk or coconut milk! We recommend Ben & Jerry’s line of Dairy Free ice cream.

5. Frozen "Nice Cream”

Now this title may sound weird, but we promise that you already have the ingredients needed for this delicious summer treat. All you need is frozen bananas, a little Almond Milk, Cinnamon and Peanut Butter if you’d like! Blend everything together and you have yourself a delicious, healthy ice cream, yummmm!

6. Your favorite fruit smoothie

Believe it or not nothing tastes better than a cool fruit smoothie after spending the day outside. You can not only get in a serving of fruits and veggies, but you can add in protein and healthy fats as well which make smoothie a well rounded snack or even meal!
